Apostle Terrell Murphy brings more than 30 years of corporate, community and ministry experience to his role as Senior Pastor of Life Center International.
Apostle Murphy was licensed to minister under the leadership of Bishop Eddie L. Long at New Birth Missionary Baptist church in Lithonia, GA on August 28, 1994 and ordained as an Elder on February 4, 1996. While there, he served faithfully as a son in many capacities and undergirded the vision of the ministry.
In March 2003, New Birth-Charlotte was planted in Huntersville, NC with Apostle Murphy as the senior pastor. For Bishop Long this was the first church plant for New Birth outside of the state of Georgia. While leading New Birth Charlotte, the church grew to over 10,000 members, impacted the Charlotte region spiritually, financially, and socially. In 2009 New Birth-Charlotte completed a new worship center. The church was considered to be the county’s largest church project in recent years (a $20 million 85,000 sq. ft facility.)
Through his great love and compassion for the inner city of Charlotte in 2006 Apostle Murphy established City Dive, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization designed to promote initiatives supporting its mission is to engage, equip and empower families to radically transform and sustain their lives and communities. He also serves as its current President and CEO. Out of that love and compassion, he saw a greater need to touch the lives of the people in a more consistent way and on March 10, 2012 City Dive Outreach Center was planted on the West Side of Charlotte as Apostle Murphy’s first church plant.
10 years later, God elevated Apostle Murphy to a greater call in His kingdom. On August 4, 2013, Apostle Murphy launched his very own ministry – Life Center International and on March 22, 2015 he was commissioned as an Apostle in the Lord’s church. Life Center International is a catalyst for the renewal, reformation, and advancement of the Kingdom of God in an environment of love.
Apostle Murphy is called as a reformer in the body of Christ. His compassion is to see the Kingdom order of God restored back to its original purpose in the earth. This, he believes, shall come to pass through the execution of New Testament Apostolic Ministry and Worship Centers. “To see the church aligned to the purposes and focuses of our Lord and His Christ is what will deliver the kingdoms of this world to our Lord.”
Apostle Murphy is a native of Granite Falls, North Carolina and graduate of Appalachian State University where he received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Communications. He is a devoted husband of 27 years to his wife Susan Murphy. Together they are the proud parents of two sons, Samuel and Johnathan.
